I've been trying to be an artist for as long as I can remember. Below are some artwork I've done. Some were class assignments while others were ones I had done on my own. If you wish to see an enlarged version, click on a picture or a text link below.

The Boogeyman Over DC: This was a classroom assignment that was done shortly after the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. (Artwork Finished: October 24, 2001; File Size: 50 KB ) |

Tourist Attraction: This was a self-portrait for a classroom assignment. I managed to knock out the double chin that I had at the time thanks to the wonders of Adobe Photoshop. (Artwork Finished: November 14, 2001; File Size: 25 KB) |

The Punk Singer: Here is yet another self-portrait for a classroom assignment. I had to animate myself in Flash saying something that was recorded by another person. Then I had to export that file into Adobe Premiere where I dropped in a background and exported it out as a QuickTime piece. So I animated my lips to the old X-Ray Specs punk classic Oh Bondage, Up Yours! and did a bunch of switching between two software packages. (Artwork Finished: April 24, 2002; File Size: 5.6 MB) |

Self-Portrait: I had draw a self-portrait in pencil for a drawing class. The instructor made each person in the class cover his/her own face while drawing his/her own self-portrait. (Artwork Finished: March 17, 2002; File Size: 12 KB) |

Her Prison: I created this piece while I was on a religious retreat and eating too much food laced with sugarwhich I detected in things like spaghetti sauce and salad dressings. I initially drew it in pencil, then colored some of it with crayons before painting the background with purple ink. (Artwork Finished: August 1, 2002; File Size: 22 KB) |

September 11: This was something I had done as part of a special one-year commemoration of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks that my school was putting on. The background is of the wrecked Pentagon while the faces portrayed in that picture are those who had died onboard American Airlines Flight 77. (Artwork Finished: September 5, 2002; File Size: 20 KB) |

Overpowered by Junk: At the school where I'm taking art classes, many of the art teachers require their students to submit some pieces to the student art show (which is held during the fall and spring semesters). So I submitted this framed piece based on my personal struggles with junk food. It was rejected but I still received credit for trying. By the way, most of the labels came from newspaper ads since I did not want to consume junk food simply for the sake of Art. (Artwork Finished: November 6, 2002; File Size: 62 KB) |
